it
is very old, when husband of Ravan's sister-in-law,
King of Paataal Lanka, was wandering in his vimaan (air
ship), he felt hungry and came down to have his food.
His servants, Mali and Sumali had forgot to bring the
idol of lord whom he worshiped before food. So they
made the idol there itself from mud and dung. Before
going back they settled the idol in water pond near
by. This idol remained invisible in the pond for centuries
and once when King Shripal had water from this place
his leprosy was cured. Wondering on this The queen got
a dream that there is a very old idol in the pond. The
king should take a cart and driven by seven day old
young ones, drive the cart himself and shoul have no
doubts in his mind nor he should look back. Then he
can take this idol to his preferred place. King did
exactly the same. But on his way back he had some doubt
in his mind that whether such a big statue is coming
on the cart or not. So he turned back to see. To his
surprise and everybody else's the idol got stationary
under a tree in air. It was on such a height that even
a horse rider could cross easily from under it. Spellbound
by the event, he constructed a temple near the place
and when the time came to take the idol into temple,
some sense of arrogance and pride came in the
mind of king. After that he tuned heads over heels but
could not move the statue from under the tree. This
tree is still near this temple - Pavli mandir. On the
orders of Acharya Abhaydevsurishwar ji, a new temple
was constructed nearby and then this idol moved into
the temple. But at time of Pratishtha, again this was
6 fingures in air.
